We have just proudly added 2 sunscreens to our listings – our Everyday Tinted Facial Sunscreen and otherwise our simple Natural Sunscreen. Both of these were made with the intention of being exquisitely comfortable on the skin – which is an issue sometimes with natural sunscreens. We have also searched for no-waste solutions for both option. If you have any other ideas, do please let us know.
Exposure to UV light is given as a significant contributor to aging – so a good sunscreen is one of the most important anti-aging products for our skin-care routines.
All of our sunscreens are made with a baseline of non-nano Zinc Oxide, which is the preferred natural sunscreen ingredient for its non-toxicity – not only to humans but also to our oceans and ocean life. Non-nano Zinc Oxide protects our skin by creating a reflective shield that reflects the damaging UV-rays; it is not absorbed into our skins. Non-nano Zinc Oxide offers broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection.
Tinted Everyday Facial Sunscreen
A cross between a moisturiser, a foundation and a sunscreen, our Tinted Everyday Facial Sunscreen is (65%) based on the choicest facial oils including Jojoba, Pomegranate and Red Raspberry Seed Oils – which are packed with anti-aging anti-oxidants, polyphenols, vitamins, and moisturising fatty acids.
- Shake well and use a pump after moisturising. In the Natural Yogi range this would be after using the African Gorgeous Moisturising Spray which offers the hydrating element.
Designed to be super comfortable and only skin-enhancing for everyday use, it spreads beautifully into an illuminating, protective film over our skin. Knowing that we are protected with an all-natural sunscreen it allows us to move freely and confidently between indoors and outdoors. Quite simply it is intended to be our summertime best friend!
Our Tinted Everyday Facial Sunscreen is based on a foundation of Jojoba Oil – chosen for the fact that Jojoba most resembles our skin’s natural oils. Jojoba is non-pore clogging, balancing oily skin and moisturising dry skin.
The 20% non-nano Zinc Oxide offers a baseline SPF factor of around 20. Pomegranate and Red Raspberry Seed Oils add extra UV screening and skin-protective abilities onto this.

UV-Radiation ages our skin and contributes to skin cancer by releasing free radicals in our cells which damage the skin cell DNA. The concentrated anti-oxidants of Red Raspberry Seed and Pomegranate OIls neutralize these free radicals. UV radiation also ages by causing the overproduction of MMP enzymes in the skin – which move through our skin’s collagenous matrix, destroying the collagen. Pomegranate oil and Red Raspberry Seed oils contain elements that absorb these excess MMP enzymes, protecting the collagenous matrix.
Directions for use:

Natural Sunscreen
With 20% non-nano Zinc Oxide as the active sunscreen ingredient (commonly accepted at this concentration to offer an SPF of around 20), through a base of natural oils, butters and waxes, what stands out about Natural Yogi Sunscreen is that, unlike other natural sunscreens that can be sticky, suffocating for the skin, and difficult to spread, Natural Yogi sunscreen is a moisturizing lotion-like, breathable fluid that is easy to spread and feels wonderful on the skin – whilst at the same time also being water resistant! And all-natural!
Moreover Natural Yogi Sunscreen includes rich infusions of the healing Calendula and Dandelion flowers, which add powerful sun-protective factors.
Both Calendula and Dandelion have UVB filtering effects, UVB radiation being the primary contributor to most skin cancers. With their high levels of polyphenols and antioxidants these extracts also absorb the free radicals caused by UV light which ultimately cause the DNA degeneration that is at the basis of skin cancer. Dandelion has been found to counteract photoaging by moreover absorbing excess MME enzymes that are released with UV exposure. These MME enzymes cause aging by destroying the collagenous matrix of our skin.

Like all sunscreens that are based on non-nano Zinc Oxide, this sunscreen will leave a white cast. But here it is smooth and easily spread, blending beautifully into your skin. The value of the white cast is that it indicates that you are protected. The Sunscreen is also water-resistant to a high level and your white cast is likely to still be there after 30 minutes of swimming. Just reapply at times of long exposure.
What about no-waste??
We offer the sunscreen in the 3 options. The glass pump bottle, the class refill bottle and the plastic squeeze bottle. We decided to add the plastic squeeze bottle – because sunscreen is something that we like to put in our bags – to take to the beach etc. But with the plastic bottle the idea is that it be re-used. Don’t throw your bottles away. You can always wash them out with a good soap and hot water. Let them dry fully – then you can purchase a glass refill bottle. Put it in a bowl of hot water to let the product become very liquid. Take it out, dry it and pour it into your plastic squeeze bottle.
